RBB SPEED TEST - Android App Review
RBB SPEED TEST is a free utility and tool application available on Android platform developed by Ookla. The app measures the average throughput value extracted from the data exchanged with the measuring server within a certain period of time. During the measurement, the app automatically detects the type of connection, such as 3G, Wi-Fi, or LTE. However, for fixed-line contract plans and provider information, user input is required (optional). The app automatically detects the representative Wi-Fi spot during the measurement. On the "MyData" tab, users can compare the average measurement history value with the national average, and check the connection rate and latency values obtained by the automatic measurement function.
The app records the download and upload throughput (Mbps), obtains the radio wave strength (not compatible with some terminals and OS), and records the measurement history (up to 200 items). The app also automatically acquires the connection rate, packet loss rate, and latency (delay) values, which can be switched ON/OFF. Recently, the app added support for measurement on Android 7.0 and a Wi-Fi spot ranking feature on the MyData tab. The app does not collect any personally identifiable information, and users can check the terms of use from the "About" tab in the app.
The app is compatible with OS 4.2 or higher.
